Jerry "The King" Lawler welcomed us to another edition of Jerry Lawler's Classic Memphis Wrestling. Once again, Lawler is at the Fitzgerald's Casino in Tunica, Mississippi. Lawler mentioned how last week they went back and watched an entire episode of Saturday morning Memphis Wrestling. Lawler added that they got such a great response from watching that classic show that they are going to do it again today. This 1986 episode featured the likes of "The Canadian Lumberjack" Joe LeDuc, The Beach Boys, The Memphis Vice, "Superstar" Bill Dundee, Buddy Landel and at the end the return of one of the greatest tag-teams ever in Memphis Wrestling, The Fabulous Ones, Stan Lane and Steve Keirn.
Lawler threw it to Tom Nunnery, who was at the Sports Book inside the Fitzgerald's Casino playing, "Memphis, Tennessee" as we went to commercial break.
Following commercial, we got to all of the classic Saturday morning Memphis Wrestling action. You can watch the 1986 episode on the video below.
They ran a trailer for the movie, "Dig That, Zeebo Newton" starring Memphis musician, Muck Sticky, and Jerry Lawler.
About halfway through the show, Lawler talked about how much fun it was going back to 1986 and joining Lance Russell and Dave Brown for a full morning of Saturday wrestling. Lawler noted how crazy Joe LeDuc was and how in this episode he wanted to form "The Canadian Connection" with his new tag partner, Paul Diamond. LeDuc tried convincing Diamond to get rid of his long hair and look more like a man so he would look more like LeDuc. Lawler sent it to Tom Nunnery, who said "Nobody was crazier than Joe LeDuc with that blood oath!"
Following the classic footage, Jerry Lawler wrapped things up by inviting everyone to Fitzgerald's Casino. Lawler added that they tape these shows about every week so you never know when you might see "The King" and crew there at Fitz. Lawler said we will see you next week for another edition of Jerry Lawler's Classic Memphis Wrestling. Tom Nunnery played "World's Greatest Wrestler" as the show ended.
Throughout the episode, they aired commercials from Jerry Lawler's Classic Memphis Wrestling Sponsors:
